College & Career T-Shirt Day - Monday 11/18
Our monthly College/Career T-Shirt day will be this Monday, November 18th. Students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt representing a college (or career) with uniform bottoms. Please make sure the college is visible on the shirt, as solid colors are not permitted. Students who do not wish to participate must wear regular uniforms. Our staff will be decked out with shirts from our colleges and we hope students will join us!

Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Food Pantry at Hilsman Middle School is planning a Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit students and their families. We will start food collection November 13th - November 20th. Right now, we will be collecting in the cafeteria & car rider line during the morning, and we will gave drop-off boxes throughout the school. We will be accepting perishable and nonperishable food items, but we suggest contacting our AmeriCorp Vista, Ms. Charlie Evans, before donating large amounts of perishable food items (772-207-6036). In addition, students can receive a free dress down day if they donate 5 or more items. (The details on how to keep track of this are still being worked out, but we will update ASAP!)

6th Grade News: November 11-15, 2019

General 6th Grade Information

America Recycles Day - November 15

Bring your old, used health and beauty product containers for recycling.
Bring your old, used school tools (pens, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, erasers, markers, etc.) for recycling.
Special containers will be outside and near the cafeteria to collect these items.

Hilsman Health Center is Now Open!

The Hilsman Health Center is now officially open! In order for students to be served, they need to have a parent/guardian fill out a consent form and return it to Nurse Caitlyn. Once the form is returned, we can schedule an appointment. If students have their consent form signed (and on file) and we get verbal permission, our nurses can walk students to the Health Center while they're at school if it's for urgent care (fever, asthma visit, etc.). Otherwise, it operates like a regular doctor's office! They currently do not have a phone number (they're working on it!), but appointments can still be made through the Athens Neighborhood Health Center. They are also taking walk-in visits for the time being!

Have any questions? Send Nurse Caitlyn an email at kurishc@clarke.k12.ga.us.
