6th Grade News October 29 - November 2

General News:
Field Day Success
Our first annual Fall Field Day was a wonderful success, with team spirit levels running high amid some healthy competition, and students certainly enjoyed the opportunity to let off some steam before fall break. Congratulations to Mr. Smith's 4th period class on winning the kickball tournament and Ms. Willingham's 4th period for winning the flag football tournament!

Produce Market @ HMS on Thursday 11/1

From 4-6pm on Thursday, come visit the produce market at Hilsman. Get 1 pound of greens for free! Every additional pound will be $2.

Student Incentive - Binder Check Dress Down Day
We are nearing the end of October, which means another month of binder checks are about to be completed. Students who have earned between 350-400 binder check points for the month of October will be permitted to be out of uniform this Friday, November 2nd. As usual, students who are out of uniform must still adhere to CCSD/HMS guidelines. The vast majority of our students are doing a wonderful job of staying organized - please continue to support your child by ensuring that they have the materials they need to be successful! If you are in need of supplies, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.

Progress Reports
Progress reports will be distributed on November 13th. This will be the 4.5 week notice of how your child is progressing through their classes. Please follow up with your students' teacher if you have any questions about grades.

Expectations
Please remind students of expectations here at Hilsman. There has been some rough-housing and horse playing that we would like to prevent at all costs so that the students are staying in class. Please remind your students of coming to class on time and prepared, being focused in class and keeping their hands and feet to themselves!
