 General News

CCSD Announces K-8 Return to School on November 9th
This week, the Clarke County School District officially announced plans for K-8 students to begin in-person instruction on November 9th. A "School Re-Entry Letter" was sent to families Friday morning, and the information is also posted here on the CCSD website. We know that there are bound to be many very important questions regarding our return, and we will be sharing pertinent information in the coming days and weeks as it becomes available.

Progress Reports
First quarter progress reports have been printed and are being mailed out. These provide the 4.5 week notice of how your child is progressing in their classes for this quarter. If you have questions or concerns about your child's grades, please reach out to your child's teacher(s) - a full 6th grade faculty contact list is provided at the bottom of this blog. Please check Parent Portal frequently so that we can address any academic concerns early!

Hilsman's Got Talent!
On Friday, October 16th, be on the lookout for a link to Hilsman's first ever episode of Hilsman's Got Talent! Tune in to see our teachers show off some of their many hidden talents, and then vote for your favorite. Also included in this video will be the exciting announcements of various student honors and recognitions - Students of the Month, the Trailblazer Awards, and the Panther Presence Awards. Check out the flier below!

Interim Assessments
Next week, on Wednesday and Thursday, October 21-22, all students will be taking Interim Assessments, given by the school district to help monitor student progress. Students will be taking these assessments for all four core subjects - math, language arts, science, and social studies. More information will be included in next week's blog.

Distance Learning Links
All the links that students and families need can be found at this link, which is also on our website. We hope this makes finding information a little easier!
