6th Grade General News
Q1 Progress Reports
Progress Reports for Quarter 1 will go home this week. These provide the 4.5 week notice of how your child is progressing in their classes for this quarter. If you have questions or concerns about your child's grades, please reach out to your child's teacher(s) - a full 6th grade faculty contact list is provided at the bottom of this blog. Please check Parent Portal frequently so that we can address any academic concerns early!

21st Century After School Program
21st Century Classes began on Tuesday, September 3rd. A parent or guardian must attend an Orientation prior to the student attending classes. Students must complete an application and enroll in order to attend classes. Students can be picked up by parents or ride one of the 21st Century buses. 21st Century applications are in the office or with Mrs. Dalton (daltonm@clarke.k12.ga.us) and Ms. Hughes (hughesa@clarke.k12.ga.us).

Girls Soccer Opportunity
This fall, Athens United will be holding practices for all players interested in playing soccer. The practices will be held at Whit Davis Elementary. The focus of the training sessions will be enhancing athletes' technical and tactical skills. Fall practice is open to all players enrolled in Clarke County Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. We hope players attend as many practices as possible. The cost for the entire season is $50 for elementary, and $100 for middle and high schoolers. This is an excellent opportunity to receive some great coaching and practice, especially for girls not already playing organized soccer. For more information, please email Coach West (the Cedar Shoals girls soccer coach) at westj@clarke.k12.ga.us, or see Mr. Naughton in Room 502 at Hilsman for a flyer with more info.

Hilfest
The first Hilfest at our new building will be on Saturday, October 5th from 10:00am-1:00pm! More info is forthcoming, but mark your calendars and stay tuned!
